By: Joan Rose (based off of my poetry)

The jury had convicted, my crime had been exposed. My shame was there for all to see as sentence was imposed. A sinner in the Lord God's eyes, my banishment complete Heaven's gates were closed to me, hell's path was at my feet. The arm that held the whip was raised, and swiftly it came down. And though I readied for the pain as I crouched upon the ground. A miracle took place that day, I really can't explain. But my heart cried out in terror, and God's Son, He took the blame. Jesus stepped between me and the executioner. Jesus took the punishment that all knew I deserved. The sentence served, I was set free from the binding of the law. An innocent "not guilty" in the holy eyes of God.
